Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an edit take?

In general, an individual edit for a single manuscript takes us no more than three weeks. This may change depending on the length of your manuscript and our editors' current workload. If you select The Big Spill editing package, it will take about three weeks per edit - so about nine weeks total depending on how long it takes you to revise your edited drafts and return them to us.

Do you offer a certificate of editing?

Yes, on request. A certificate of editing may be used to prove to potential publishers/literary agents that your manuscript has been professionally proofed.

What method of payment do you accept?

Paypal is our primary method of payment, but alternate methods may be available as well - just ask!

Which style of English do you use for editing?

Our default editing style uses US English, but we can also edit for UK English on request.

Do you offer manuscript formatting?

Ink Drop does not offer official formatting for manuscripts. For more information on this, see Services & Pricing.

Do your prices often fluctuate?

Yes and no.

We have designed everything from our editing packages to our payment structure to benefit our writers. Whatever rate you first pay with us is the rate you will always pay with us. In other words, although our prices do fluctuate on occasion, you will be “grandfathered” in at whatever prices you were first charged by us.
